Abstract
Di Malaysia, pokok petai belalang atau nama saintifiknya Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit, sering ditemui di tepi jalan. Lazimnya, biji petai ini akan dijadikan ulam dan dimasak lemak manakala daunnya pula dijadikan makanan untuk sesetengah haiwan ternakan kerana kandungan proteinnya yang tinggi.
