Abstract
Diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms are a rising concern. Resistance, high costs, side effects and low availability of current antibiotics has led researchers to focus on natural products, finding for lead compounds to develop better drugs.
Sesbania grandiflora leaves, also known as Agathi, pokok turi, or hummingbird tree, are consumed mainly in Asia as it has antioxidant, anti-diarrheal, anti-arthritic, anti-cancer and antibacterial effects.
Nanoformulation has gained attention as a new drug delivery system to overcome the physicochemical and pharmacokinetic limitation of phytochemicals, enhancing the controlled release and increasing the efficacy of the bioactivities.
This project aims to assess the antimicrobial properties of NanoSGE against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria
