Abstract

Ketoksikan ammonia terhadap juvenil ikan siakap Lates calcrifer (Bloch) telah diuji ke atas benih-benih berukuran purata pajang piawai 250cm and 500cm Ujian-Ujian ketoksikan akut telah dijalankan dengan sistem statik dan aliran berterusan manakala ujian-ujian ketoksikan kronik pula telah dijalankankan hanya dengan menggunakan sistem aliran berterusan Perubahan-perubahan histopatologi pada insang, ginjal, usus dan kulit Juvenil akibat ketoksikan akut dan kronik ammonia juga telah dicerap. Nilai-nilai LC50 96-jam ammonia bagl juvenil 250cm dan 500cm yang diperolehi hasil ujian ketoksikan akut menggunakan sistem aliran berterusan masing-masing 110 dan 108mg1-1 NH3-N atau 134 dan 131mg1-1 NH3 Nilai-nilai LC50 yang diperolehi melalui ujian ketoksikan akut menggunakan sistem statik didapati lebih rendah iaitu 080mgr1 NH3-N atau 0 97mgl-1 NH3 khususnya bagi juverul 500cm
