Abstract

Student mobility and international engagement are considered essential tools for acquiring and developing students’ competencies in understanding social change and cultural diversity. At the same time, they provide career and subject-related knowledge and skills in an increasingly complex international environment (Office of the Higher Education Commission [OHEC], 2016). Recognising the importance of student mobility programmes, the Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (RIHED) of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) has taken the initiative to implement mobility programmes between Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries.
