Abstract
Over the years, aerospace materials have undergone significant advancements, with new materials being developed to meet the increasing demands of the aerospace industry. The selection of materials for aerospace applications is crucial because they directly affect the performance and safety of aircraft and spacecraft. This review aims to discuss the various materials used in the aerospace sector. It includes a comprehensive review of metallic and nonmetallic materials and an alternative material growing in popularity among researchers—natural fibers. Therefore, this review also discusses current research on natural fibers suitable for aerospace applications due to their potential to reduce weight, improve fuel efficiency, and lower environmental impact. Thus, the growing demand for sustainable materials in the aerospace industry is expected to drive further development and adoption of natural fiber in aerospace structures in the coming years.
