Faith-Based Mentorship in the Digital age with Supporting At-Risk Youth in Klang Valley, Malaysia

This chapter investigates the intersection of faith, technology, and mentorship in supporting at-risk youth in Klang Valley, Malaysia. In an era shaped by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation, mentorship programs rooted in faith-based values offer a unique approach to guiding vulnerable youth toward resilience and personal growth. Findings reveal that effective mentoring fosters trust, enhances emotional and social skills, and strengthens religious and cultural identity among at-risk youth. Mentors who incorporate faith-based principles and digital tools into their approach are more likely to overcome challenges such as time constraints, resistance from mentees, and lack of resources. However, long-term improvements in educational and socio-economic conditions remain limited due to broader systemic challenges. Additionally, AI-driven communication tools provide both opportunities and risks for youth mentorship.
