Abstract
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process of extracting collagen obtained from aquatic animals, a process of analyzing the collagen obtained by the method, and the use of the collagen.SOLUTION: There is provided a process of extracting collagen obtained from aquatic animals, the aquatic animals including barramundi and red tilapia, the collagen being extracted and recovered from fish skin using an enzyme including papain. Also provided is a process of analyzing the collagen, where the process includes amino acid analysis, a peptide in the collagen and a type of collagen. Further provided is the use of the collagen for production of a pharmaceutical composition, a cosmetic or topical preparation, or food.
