In Silico interaction analysis of functional peptide profile of adult Musca domestica.

Abstract
In this study, high-throughput proteomics and bioinformatics techniques were employed to analyse protein expression in adult Musca domestica, a holometabolous insect. A total of 391 peptides were identified in a susceptible strain of M. domestica adults, corresponding to 138 protein groups with diverse molecular weights (9.70–357.90 kDa), isoelectric points (4.48–9.48) and amino acids (82-3173). Based on gene ontology annotation, the expressed proteins were mainly associated with gluconeogenesis (37.50%) and serine family amino acid catabolic process (37.50%). At the molecular level, the proteins of adult M. domestica were involved in nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) binding (17.86%). Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes acknowledged 24 pathways with the proteins predominantly assigned to glyoxylate and dicarboxylate metabolism (26.67%). The findings revealed that the mechanisms of action and physiological roles of the proteins in the adult stage were closely connected. Moreover, several proteins such as heat shock proteins, esterases, glutathione S-transferase and cytochrome P450 in cellular defence and detoxification mechanisms were also detected. As the first comprehensive proteomic analysis of susceptible adult M. domestica, this protein profile provides a valuable foundation for future comparative proteomic and genomic investigations.
