Abstract
Ionic liquid (1-propyl-2-methylpyrazolium iodide + 0.064 M 1-propyl-2-methylpyrazolium triiodide) (PMPI-PMPTI)–doped polymer electrolyte polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) with sodium iodide (NaI) was synthesized using the solution cast method and characterized using various techniques. Polarized optical microscopy (POM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used to study the crystallinity of ionic liquid doped polymer electrolyte films. The ionic conductivity of the synthesized polymer films was evaluated using complex impedance spectroscopy. The ionic transference number (tion) measurement and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) were used to understand the nature of films along with the electrochemical stability window. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) further affirm interactions and the composite nature of films. The optimum ionic liquid–doped PVA:NaI polymer electrolyte film sandwiched between standard electrodes shows 1.40% efficiency at 1 sun condition and an effective area of 1 cm2.
