Abstract
This research explores the role of Chinese Wuxia fiction in shaping leadership identity. A Chinese Wuxia novel, The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber, was selected as a case study. Through a close reading of the novel, four characters were selected and their personalities, abilities, and behaviors were analyzed. This data was then reconceptualized to create a typology of four distinct leadership identities. The relevance and applicability of the typology to organizational realities is discussed. It is concluded that Chinese Wuxia fiction offers a valuable addition to traditional theory development approaches.
