Abstract

Kajian ini dijalankan untuk menentukan kandungan nutrien anti nutrien dan aktiviti antioksidan Strobilanthes crispus; menganalisis kesan ekstrak Strobilanthes crispus ke atas profil lipid darah, aktiviti antioksidan dalam serum, hati dan aktiviti enzim antioksidan hati arnab. Empat kumpulan arnab putih New Zealand iaitu kawalan, kumpulan kolesterol (0.25% kolesterol), kumpulan Strobilanthes crispus (0.25% kolesterol + 2.5% ekstrak air Strobilanthes crispus) dan kumpulan pravastatin (0.25% kolesterol + 22mg/kg pravastatin) dirawat selama tiga bulan. Keputusan menunjukkan Strobilanthes crispus mengandungi kandungan mineral yang tinggi terutama kalium (10900mg/100g) diikuti kalsium (5185mg/100g), natrimn (2953mg/100g), ferum (2S5mg/100g) dan fosforus (201mg/100g), fiber kasar yang agak tinggi (13.9%), karbohidrat, lipid, protein,
